Summer Internships
A paid summer internship with PG&E gives you real-world exposure to a dynamic, evolving and exciting business. Internship opportunities are available for both bachelor’s and master’s degree students. You simply need to be currently enrolled in an accredited university and returning to school in the fall to continue your education toward a degree.
Timelines
- Engineering and Information Technology Summer Internships are generally posted in the fall and filled shortly afterwards for the upcoming summer for Gas Operations and IT.
- Business and other majors are generally posted starting in January and extend through March, with hiring decisions made shortly thereafter.
- Search jobs using the keyword “internship” during the timeframes described above to view available opportunities.
Recent Graduate Rotation Development Programs
Our rotation development programs span Gas Operations, Electric Operations and Information Technology. As a recent graduate, you can join us for a 12- to 18-month rotation development program that includes two to three six-month rotations, exposing you to various aspects of our business.
Timelines
- Recruiting generally occurs in the fall but may go into the spring as needed.
- Search jobs using the keyword “ERDP” for the Engineer Rotation Development Program or “IT RDP” for the Information Technology Rotation Development Program during the timeframe described above to view available opportunities.
Engineer Rotation Development Program
(ERDP) – Gas Operations and Gas Engineering
- This 18-month program provides the opportunity to gain experience in up to three departments.
- Ideal candidates are graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or recent graduates with a degree in these disciplines.
Engineer Rotation Development Program
(ERDP) – Electric Engineering
- This 12-month program will give you experience in up to two departments within the service territory of Sacramento, Fresno or the Bay Area.
- Ideal candidates are graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (an emphasis in Power Systems is desired), or recent graduates with a degree in this discipline.
Information Technology Rotation Development Program IT RDP
- This 18-month program offers experiences in up to three departments.
- Ideal candidates are graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or recent graduates with a degree in these disciplines.
