Department Overview
The Enterprise Service Delivery (ESD) Business Operations team delivers a broad range of expertise and services to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions for ESD. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, the team helps the organization balance operational strategy, risk, compliance, and continuous improvement. We aspire to build leading programs that enable ESD and PG&E to thrive in their operations.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will serve as the lead for visualizing data to show it’s story, which will influence business decisions. The individual will review complex data, and devise strategies to support programs and initiatives incorporating understanding of customer needs, industry direction, business impacts and company vision. The successful candidate will need to have integral knowledge of data tools (such as PowerBI) to develop and train teams on reports and dashboards, as well as guide teams on the best ways to visualize collected data – whether through alternate systems or visualizations. Additionally, this individual will serve as the key point of contact for ESD with the Enterprise CAP team in issue tracking.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Headquarters Location based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000
Job Responsibilities
- Works with little to no required guidance from management on dashboarding of data in a variety of data management tools (PowerBI, Salesforce [lining reports / Einstein], Excel, etc.)
- Evaluates and interprets a variety of data (i.e. safety, environmental, land, aviation, transportation, corporate real estate, etc.), identifies trends / gaps and provides informational sessions to leaders
- Leads Data Quality Assurance for ESD Operating reviews and ESD KPI reporting
- Creates Process documentation for the ESD Data Visualization & Analytics team
- Creates Pivot Tables, or other workbooks, to allow for quick viewing / analysis of large datasets
- Creates trainings on data management tools (how to use / manipulate data / etc.) and presents to groups of 1-500
- After reviewing data collected, provides recommendations to ESD leaders on the best visualization and data management tools for their needs
- Acts as the front-end for CAP assignments in ESD, assigning issues to leaders across departments
- Examines alternate solutions to a problem, effectively troubleshoots various issues and analysis, and provides findings and recommendations for internal clients and external stakeholders.
- May develop new analytic tools including complex modeling, forecasting, data analysis and evaluation to support strategic planning and decision making.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
- 6 years job-related experience
Desired:
- Advanced Degree
- 8 years job-related experience
- Salesforce Dashboarding experience, particularly with Einstein
- Well-versed in creating complex PowerBI dashboards
- Forward-thinker who proactively researches data trends
- Questioning mindset, able to get to the root (the ‘why’) of data / visualization needs
- An individual who is patient, engaging, and passionate about stories that data can tell
