Position Summary
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Principal Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Business Performance Team. This team is responsible for proactively managing associated operational and financial risks by developing sustainable internal controls and procedures.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $136,000
Bay Area Maximum: $232,000
Job Responsibilities
- Provides recommendations to senior management and extended leadership with supporting analysis.
- Drives change in the organization and serves as a champion of company initiatives as appropriate.
- Develops and manages processes as needed.
- Coaches and mentors less experienced employees.
- Anticipates issues and develops innovative solutions.
- Acts as a thought leader, applying extensive unique subject matter expertise in the development of strategy or resolution of complex issues.
- Responsible for timely and effective resolution of reporting issues and complex analysis.
- Uses existing financial models and/or develops new models for analysis and reporting.
- Works with senior management to support strategic planning and decision making.
- Prepares and support financial testimony, work papers, etc. for use in regulatory proceedings.
- May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- May have up to two direct reports.
- Leads special projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Identifies methods to promote efficiency within existing processes, creates a best practices environment.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in financial analysis
- Experience in accounting, or related, 8 years
- Experience in analysis, job-related
Desired:
- Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 10 years
- Utility industry experience
- Experience in consulting
- CPA-Certified Public Accountant certification
