Department Overview
The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
Oversees project work, performance, operations analysis, and technology integration and deployment functions in Transmission System Inspections. Oversees teams to support systems, assets and projects. Leads the effort in generation of financial and work performance reporting and supports executive leadership by providing decision support analysis and driving initiatives in the line of business.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location, subject to change per business needs.
The assigned work location will be flexible within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 132,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 196,900.00
OR
Minimum Base Salary (California) $ 125,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (California) $ 187,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the strategy, planning, tracking and analysis of work in Transmission System Inspections. May get involved with tactical efforts when needed to execute all of the work plan and initiatives in Transmission System Inspections. Removes barriers at both high and low levels of management so that work can proceed.
- Develops performance initiatives around unit cost reporting to determine if work is being executed efficiently.
- Leads efforts to put together annual spending plans that are presented at the Sr. Officer and Board level with an emphasis on required resources to meet work plans. Reports out to officers and works with finance on major matters including producing the TO14 to the FERC as needed.
- Coaches, develops, and leads employees to achieve the department goals and the individual’s development.
- Contributes to group financial performance by monitoring budget and system performance, controlling costs, and reviewing and approving expenses.
- Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of project management experience including 5 years of operational experience in a power systems environment.
- Travel approximately 20% with occasional overnight stays.
Desired:
- Project Management Certification
- Engineering, business, and operational knowledge to effectively develop and manage department initiatives.
- Understands end-to-end processes associated with the execution of a large portfolio of work, such as long term planning, project management, work and resource management, sourcing, engineering, and construction.
- Project Management and tactical skills required to implement or coach others to implement long-term initiatives.
- Ability to develop metrics and analytics with the goal of alignment between company strategy and the performance of employees.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate messages to enroll leadership and upper management.
