Department Overview

The Enterprise Performance System team is responsible for the implementation of Lean across PG&E. This is accomplished by training, coaching, KPI development and tracking, problem solving, use of standards of performance and eliminating waste. This team leads the Enterprise assessment process on how we measure operational excellence and lean maturity

Position Summary

This role will manage the design, build, training, and execution of two enterprise assessments: 1) Business System Performance and 2) Lean maturity. The candidate will ensure timely delivery of program milestones, effective stakeholder engagement, as well as oversee the development of the assessment, training and execution. The Program Manager will collaborate with functional area leaders, facilitate assessment and training design, as well as oversee communication and change management efforts.

This position is hybrid. In office work 2-3 days a week to the assigned work location based on business need.

Work location will be in Oakland reporting to the Oakland General Office. Some travel will be required across the PG&E territory based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint <$Min - $Mid of the range>. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Min: $140,000

Bay Area Mid: $189,000

Bay Area Max: $238,000

Job Responsibilities

Program Management & Execution

  • Manage the execution of two enterprise assessments: 1) Business System Performance and 2) Lean Maturity
  • Establish and maintain governance processes, standards, and documentation for all assessment activities.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with organizational policies and frameworks.

Assessment Design & Development

  • Facilitate the design of assessment instruments, tools, and processes.
  • Foster stakeholder engagement and alignment of senior leadership and subject matter experts.

Training & Capability Building

  • Design and develop the training curriculum for the assessment team.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to build assessment capabilities and drive continuous improvement.

Communication & Change Management

  • Develop and execute communication and change management plans for assessment initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to secure alignment and sponsorship.

Reporting & Insights

  • Create scoring and feedback processes to provide actionable planning for assessed organizations.
  • Independently create clear and concise senior-level presentations that convey objectives, insights, and outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 10 years of experience in project/program management, organizational change, or operations management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, statistics, organization development, or related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional assessment or improvement initiatives.

Desired:

  • Ability to lead projects with measurable results, working across organizational boundaries and with senior executives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to facilitate sessions with senior leadership to create assessment modules and delivery process
  • Experience in Malcom Baldridge or Shingo Institute assessment process
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching leaders to make data-driven decisions and solve problems objectively.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent) and/or Change Management Certification.
